Very valuable to remember that growl inhibition isn't a good idea at all.

This is an excellent and comprehensive article, and I learned several things from it. While learning the Tellington TTouch from the written word has its challenges, the article is still well worth a read. Over 10 years ago, my husband I had a video production company and we made two programs -- one on dogs, one on cats -- with Linda Tellington-Jones. Even though I am pretty much a klutz, I have successfully used this method many times. It can be astonishing in how effective it is... and how quickly.

interesting and valuable data, despite the small-sample, but i think that nearly-every trainer would have predicted the result. (smile) i know i would!
after 30 yrs of observing ppl and pets, it is not astonishing to discover that an owner who cannot prevent or re-train jumping-up in their dog is also overly compliant and a welcome-mat for pushy individuals to walk over... including of course their children, which is the litmus-test that ethical-breeders have used for decades to place or not-place pups: can Mom or Dad get compliance from the kids?
this does not invalidate the value of a well-designed larger sample in future- knowing the risk factors for problem-behaviors as a consequence of owner-personality would surely be helpful to shelters, rescues and trainers, among others! owners exhibiting personality risk-factors could be given more support or modeling of more apropos behavior to help preclude the development of such unattractive and/or dangerous prob-behs in their dogs, perhaps.

This interview is excellent. James is accurate, concise and extremely clear in explaining the reasons and concepts behind the fallout of the dominance theory. It is a must read to everyone ..
